As winter sets in and Christmas draws closer, the temperatures outside have started to drop. This can lead to mice entering homes as they search for warmth and shelter from the cold. So far, this winter has been no exception, as we have been experiencing a large number of enquiries regarding mice in customers’ homes.
What are the common signs that mice might be sharing your home?
What can be done to control mice?
One of the best ways to stop mice is by blocking off their route into the building. This is sometimes easier said than done, as mice can fit through gaps as small as 6mm – about the size of a pea! It may not always be possible to find entry points, particularly in old buildings.
When it comes to carrying out a treatment against mice, Pest Solution always adhere to the code of best practice as set out by the Campaign of Responsible Rodenticide Use (CRRU). We will always try to use trapping methods first and we endeavour to minimise our use of rodenticides. By not using rodenticides straight away, it ensures that no other wildlife is harmed and removes the chance of a mouse dying in a wall cavity and leaving a nasty smell in time for Christmas!
